Poverty creates trauma which can be felt and seen in many aspects of our lives.
My experience as a kid, growing up not knowing where my next meal would come from had a profound impact on simple things like buying groceries as an adult.
We have to move past that impoverished state of mind and allow our financial plans to help us find our way. As a minority, this is paramount to creating financial independence. That independence is the security and safety I craved and sought for a child. I’m still seeking it today, so I can have control over my life. Growing up in poverty doesn’t allow for control. Financial independence gives you that control and restores what should have been yours in the first place.
I am sharing my story to ensure that you benefit and can learn from my pain, then see that I have made it through, I persevered and I survived.
You can survive your situation. Make a plan and keep that plan in sight at all times. Poverty may seem like a barrier to success but it is not. It’s an illusion, it’s like being trapped in the matrix with an inability to wake.
I am sharing my story so that you can see, that WE can make it. WE can all eat.
Remember financial independence is not created overnight. It takes time. But time is on our side.
